SFD responds to early morning house fire
SHREVEPORT, La. – Shreveport’s fire department kept busy Saturday morning battling a house fire in the city’s Highland neighborhood.
The fire happened around 6:43 a.m. in the 200 block of Wichita Street.
Clarence Reese, Assistant to the Fire Chief, said firefighters found light smoke at the home upon arrival. The fire had spread from the home’s attic and into the kitchen. They were quickly able to get it under control within 15 minutes.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
