The 2016 games will take place in Rio de Janeiro and the surrounding area in Brazil. Here’s some basic information about the country.

More specifically, the games will occur in four different “zones,” according to Olympic.org. These zones — Barra, Deodoro, Maracana, and Copacabana — are linked together, allowing about half of the athletes to reach their venues in about 10 minutes.
