Annie Dillard, Pulitzer-winning author of 'Pilgrim at Tinker Creek,' dies at 81

Annie Dillard, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author known for her poetic explorations of nature and spirituality, has died at 81. Her literary agent, Rob McQuilkin, says Dillard died Tuesday of natural causes at her home in South Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Dillard began her career in the mid-1970s. She wrote a wide range of books, including the acclaimed “Pilgrim at Tinker Creek,” which won the Pulitzer for nonfiction in 1975. She was celebrated for her profound reflections on human life and nature. Dillard taught at Wesleyan University for over 20 years before retiring in 2002. She was married three times and had one child.

A selected list of nominees to the Latin Grammys 2026, as announced on Wednesday by The Latin Recording Academy. The 27th edition of the Latin Grammys will be celebrated on Nov. 12 in Las Vegas. Karol G, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, Rosalía and Jorge Drexler as the most nominated artists revealed on Wednesday. They have seven nominations each and compete in the categories of album, song and record of the year.

A fight of titans is coming up for the 27th edition of the Latin Grammys with Karol G, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, Rosalía and Jorge Drexler as the most nominated artists revealed on Wednesday. They have seven nominations each and compete in the categories of album, song and record of the year. They are closely followed by Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte with six nominations each. Milo J, with five, and Arath Herce, with four, are the other top nominees. Looking at them all from above is once again Edgar Barrera, who, with 10 nominations, competes in the categories of producer and composer of the year.

Armani taps Dario Vitale for its Emporio and accessories lines a year after death of Giorgio Armani

The Armani fashion group has named Dario Vitale creative director of Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani Accessories. It's a first step in the creative reorganization a year after the death of founder Giorgio Armani. Vitale is a veteran fashion insider who spent some 15 years at Miu Miu. He joins Armani after exiting Versace after just one season. In a statement, Armani said Vitale’s appointment marked the “beginning of a new chapter” for the brand and “opens a dialogue between innovation and identity.” Giorgio Armani died last year at age 91.
