Moving with Pets: Overcoming the Stress of Planning a Pet-Friendly Journey

For the 68% of U.S. households with pets, moving to a new home means more than packing boxes — it’s about planning their furry family members journey as well. Driving is often the go-to choice for pet parents who want their dogs, cats, or other companions by their side, not in an airplane’s cargo hold or a relocation service’s van. Yet, the pre-travel challenge of finding pet-friendly hotels along the route — especially for those with more than two pets, large breeds, or cats — can turn planning into a stressful ordeal.

According to recent data, more than 27 million Americans relocated in 2023, driven by various factors such as job changes, the desire for more space, or the pursuit of a better lifestyle. While relocating offers the promise of a fresh start, it is also widely recognized as one of the most stressful experiences people face. When you add pets into the equation, the challenges multiply.
