Horses die in south Bossier barn fire

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The deaths of seven horses in a barn fire in south Bossier Parish Saturday and the deaths of other animals across the state has the state fire marshal issuing a warning about the use of heat lamps to warm pets in the cold. 

Woman dies in Natchitoches house fire

NATCHITOCHES, La. -- A woman has died Sunday morning in a mobile home fire in Natchitoches, the state fire marshal's office said in a Facebook post.  The fire was reported just before 11 a.m. in the 1900 block of state Highway 6. Firefighters later found the body of what is believed to be a female resident of the mobile home. Fire marshals responded to the scene to investigate the cause.    

Overnight house fire in Natchez leaves one injured

NATCHEZ, La. -- One person was injured in a late night house fire in Natchez, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office.  The fire was reported around 11:34 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of state Highway 119. The home's sole occupant, James Robinson, was taken to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center suffering from possible smoke inhalation.  The cause of the fire is still undetermined.  Fire units from District 5 stayed on the scene until 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies temporarily closed the highway until blaze was extinguished.
