RAYOS-788 Test Article 59
Good Wednesday morning! I hope your week is going great. I know all of our lives in some way or another have been turned upside down. Lets ride that storm, that is what we do around here. Ride the storm and it will get much better. I think we will get much worse the next 2 or 3 weeks, then hopefully we start to turn the corner. Working from home is a challenge. It is much easier to do everything at work. As we get deeper in severe weather season I am going to have to have some days in the station. However, the good aspect from working at home and I have had so much more family time that I love. I have also gotten a ton of projects done around the house. If you want to get outside and get some yard work done or just enjoy the fresh air, today is your day!
While we don’t need to worry about any rain for Wednesday, we’re already watching our next system coming from the Pacific Northwest. Nothing’s happening to our immediate west, but our next system is making itself known with some t-storms in North Dakota and and some high elevation snow in Montana.
The main culprit behind that activity tonight is an upper level low working through the Pacific Northwest. Even though it still has quite a bit of real estate to cross before it gets here, it will be here within the next few days with rain chances moving in with it.
Until that happens, we stay dry tonight and cool once again. With a light breeze and mostly clear skies, it’s the right recipe to allow temperatures to drop back into the middle 40s before sunrise on your Wednesday morning.
Even with skies turning partly sunny throughout the day, we’ll still have a nice south breeze at 5 to 15 mph to bump our temperatures up into the afternoon. Plan on a mild day with highs back in the lower 70s across the area.
While we do stay quiet for Wednesday night and Thursday morning, that’s when more moisture will start to pull in ahead of our next system. That means skies turning mostly cloudy for Wednesday night and your Thursday. While the day may start dry, the upper wave will send a cold front our way to help spark some scattered showers for Thursday afternoon and evening. Despite that, we’ll still be mild ahead of the front with highs back in the lower 70s.
Mother Nature will send the cold front through the area as we get into Friday. With it, skies will definitely be cloudy as we will also contend with periods of rain through the day. This will have an impact on temperatures as we’ll only get into the lower to middle 60s for highs as the weekend kicks off.
After this front clears out Friday night, it’ll leave us with a nice Saturday to enjoy. We’ll start Saturday morning on the cold side, but we’ll warm back into the lower 60s under partly sunny skies. Sticking with Doug’s pattern, we’ll have more rain and t-storm chances ready to return as we head into next week. At least we can look forward to temperatures back near 70 on Sunday and starting to push 80 by next Monday and Tuesday. Don’t forget that my long range forecast is posted below.
-Doug
